Intoduction. What is the Trinity?

For many, we as Christians have heard of the word Trinity or the Godhead and have seemed to avoid talking about the topic because we don't naturally like to engage in topics that may rub people up the wrong way. So we avoid arguments that may cause people to re-evaluate their understanding which may unsettle them or make them uncomfortable.

Not many people are willing to be unsettled in their knowledge of the truth. They will rather go through life and be comfortable in staying at their level of understanding of the truth then to grow in the truth.  However we are called to search and grow in the knowledge of Him. We are called to do this.

Many years ago a wise friend said to me that there are two things you must not do in life. One is to never discuss religion, and the other is to never talk about politics with people you wish to have a good rapport with. Sad but true. That's why I enjoy Facebook and the internet and having discussions with strangers and challenging their understanding and in turn being challenged by them. Some of the best discussions that I have enjoyed were not with other Christians but with New-Agers and Atheists/Agnostics.

God willing, the purpose of this blog is to discover or rediscover the doctrine of the Trinity which is found in the Bible and to find out why as believers we hold onto this core doctrine, and why it is so important and dangerous not to. Yes, you are correct. The word "Trinity" is not in the Bible. However, there are many scriptures that reveal God in many different kinds of ways. For example, the three different persons, namely God the Father, God the Son Jesus and lastly God the Spirit or the Holy Spirit. We will notice each Person of the Godhead plays a unique role in creation and in our lives.
